Two thoughts from Surya:
Every principle is violent
First principle is to be hundreds of bodies
In psychiatry, there is a term 'persona'. As T S Eliot put it, all the time you 'prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet'. We play all sorts of roles in a single day.
However, if we lack flexibility in shifting from role to role, there can be issues. A policeman who continues to be a policeman at home can be quite upsetting. A husband-wife relationship can stagnate if the partners do not 'play' different roles to each other. Parents often keep on playing parent even when the child is fully adult.
Surya spoke of practicing being different 'selves'. As Shakespeare wrote:
All the world's a stage,Surya also mentioned that Ramakrishna used the concept of Abhinaya.
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts
