THE PILOT’S POCKET BOOK - G

Remember that once you have become aware of the ground control the rules are as before:
1. Be always in contact with ground control.

2. Know the signs of the make and break of this contact.

3. If you cannot do some work without losing this contact, then remember that maintaining the contact is the first priority.

4. If this is done your so-called other work gets done in the best possible manner to the satisfaction of the ground control, though not necessarily to the satisfaction of the enemy forging your signature. You know the sign.

5. The ground control has sent you as an apprentice pilot and everything is given exactly as is needed for your apprenticeship. Your wages is joy in the journey. If you are receiving other wages then you are no longer in the pilot’s seat – the enemy is.

6. Your job is to learn to report accurately all that comes to your awareness without comment. If you garble your report with a view to particular result then it is the passenger who has briefed you.

7. Remember that ground control needs your reports and its work.

8. Your job is to stay in your seat at the control panel and to enjoy yourself.
